I read a post this morning from Sue Gardner in the LA Times on why women are leaving the tech space. One piece of the article really hit me and I wanted to explore why women might be leaving the tech space in general.

There are lots of articles by women and men talking about what it takes to get more women into tech and keep more women in tech. One of the ideas that I read about today was around making the tech space and startup space less intimidating to women. I wonder how many women feel intimidated by the tech space because of how many men are there?

I read articles about women in business and women in tech all the time. Over time I have grown to have my own opinions on the matter.  I have read online about how we as a country need to work on keeping women staying in the workforce. The answer to staying in the workforce as well as getting more women into tech might just be about feeling comfortable and accepted. Feeling comfortable and accpeted by others around you leads to confidence.

Women in Tech Work Hard and Want to WorkOut Hard Too!

I follow keyword sets through our HubSpot social media monitoring tool around "women in tech, #womenintech, etc" so that I can come across cool women doing great things in tech. It helps me to find women in tech and women in startups who should be highlighted here on my blog so you all can learn about them as well. Learning about other women doing great things in tech and creating cool startups is a great way for all of us to stay motivated and continue to learn from each other. It is all part of spotlighting more women in technology roles so that women not in tech can learn about the types of jobs that women can have in tech. We have to expose more women to tech if we want to get more women to be involved in technology.
